Just who is behind these reviews?
I'm an urban girl living in the northcentral Wisconsin woods. I share my life with a handful of dogs and cats, the latter of whom are happy to support my reading habit as it ensures that I'll make good lapspace for them for quite a while. In addition to reading, I'm also a gamer; it's not unheard of for me to fire up my PS3 and play until my controller dies. (This also delights my cats, though my occasional bouts of swearing startle them.) I fold origami and make jewelry and sundries with kumihimo. Fortunately, my career is in a very seasonal industry, which leaves me a small window every year where I can devote as much time to the above as I'd like!

Why a blog?
I've been collecting books--male/male romance and otherwise--for years, which has left me with an enormous backlog. In the case of male/male romance I buy ebooks almost exclusively (particularly since acquiring my beloved tablet), and I have a hard time keeping track of books I've already read, books I've started but never finished, and books I've never opened. I'd find myself starting the same book four times, unable to remember my last experience with it. I finally decided that enough was enough, it was time to log them somewhere. Goodreads is effective but cluttered with my general bookshelves, and so a blog it became.

About the Reviews

How are the books for review selected?
I tend to select books based on my current mood. Sometimes I'll run through a series or theme, but I more often will just jump around my library. I've set a tentative sequence for myself; if you're curious as to what I anticipate adding next, visit my to-read shelf on Goodreads.

How are ratings determined?
I rate on a 5 point scale, the breakdown of which can be found in General Information. I rate in whole points only due to personal preference, rather than breaking the ratings down into fractions.

Where are the reviewed books acquired?
I have purchased all books reviewed on this blog, either directly from the publisher or from a licensed retailer. Each review (when applicable) will now include a link to the publisher's product page for purchase.

What do you include in your reviews?
I try to include information that I would want to know about a book before I purchased it. I do include spoilers, but they're tucked behind cuts to keep them from anyone who doesn't care to read them.

So what are those [+] things all over?
As I'd mentioned above, I do include spoilers behind cuts, with a script supporting them. When I insert a spoiler, it's automatically transformed into the [+]; click on that to expand the spoiler text. (Please note that you do need to have JavaScript enabled to utilize these; if it's disabled, the text won't show at all, [+] or otherwise.)

Is there an update schedule?
At this time, updates are posted as I read books, which is irregularly. Posting frequency will definitely vary by season; while Spring and Summer allow me more time to spend with books and reviews, Autumn and Winter are rather more demanding of my time.
